Happy one year anniversary of Toast(r) and 1k downloads!! Wow!!!
I am proud to announce that, for the one year anniversary, I have fixed that one typo in the game that was really bothering me. You're welcome. You may show your appreciation with a pink toaster float in my honor.
Jokes aside, I think none of us really expected how much people would love our silly little game we made in a month. We truly had a blast making it, so much so that we joke about making a Toast(r) 2 quite often. We call it Twoster or Toast(r)² but really it's just a hypothetical. Maybe one day...
To everyone who has enjoyed the horrible dates of Toast(r), from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate you all. I am so glad you love our characters, especially my boy Roy. ♡
I plan to do something more with Roy and his story, but given how much I'm juggling it's not really at the forefront. Still, one day it will exist just like Toast(r) does! When it does, I hope you'll enjoy it too. ♡
Here's to another year of shit dates and bad dating apps. Stay toasty, everyone.

huh okay i’ll be so real for a while recently was thinking this dropped in 2023 and it’s been two years and we just never did anything for 1 year... i guess i don’t understand the passage of time. anyway, i just wanted to say thanks to everyone who played the game. i only had smith as an OC for abooout six months when we decided to do this, and i used him because i was having major brain rot of him through the first like 8(?) months. after having designed him sitting on the bed of a hotel room, i was thinking he’d be a one off drawing and nothing more. i was homeless at the time of making him, going through a lot of mental health issues, and just needed something to cope so i latched onto this wet cat of a man, as i needed anything to get me through. even after moving into an apartment, getting myself set up, and being in a better space, smith was one of my constants. i could draw him in situations, pour milk on him and throw him at a fence, whatever i wanted. it was control i lacked in my day to day life... and like yeesh getting deep into my mental state here and Mental Illness(tm) but when i tell you smith is important to me, i’m understating beyond imaginable measurements. so the fact that anyone at all likes him means the world to me. the fact that my friends worked with me, the fact that we worked together on this and made this disasterpiece means the world to me. even if, at times, i think smith’s route is the weakest, and you know what, it might be, but at least i had a blast, and people like him at all.
as far as 1k downloads goes... that’s a number i haven’t seen on something i’m involved with in a whiiile, and the fact that it’s smith related... it makes me beyond happy. i’ve always been a small creator, and i know there’s so many more downloads on other games on here, but it’s no small number by any means, and, as much as you’re probably tired of reading me say it, it means a lot. i’m just a lil guy (gender neutral) doing lil guy things with my lil guy friends and having fun and people actually looked at it and liked it. thats crazy!!!!!!
so, thanks for playing, thanks for one year of horrible dates, thanks for 1,000+ downloads, and i look forward to showing y’all more of what we, and i, create in the future.

I was absolutely blindsided by the reaction we got to This Date is Toast(r). I'm more than grateful to all of you who enjoyed it! I hadn't worked on a project like this before, and I had no expectations on how it’d do. To see all of y'all who singled out Avery’s route as their favorites, I’m so happy that you all enjoyed their nonsense! They’re one of my favorite ocs of mine cause their creation came really naturally to me. Their design was fun enough to keep and that inspired their personality which inspired their storyline. It was more than a great time to see how they’d do in a visual novel dating game. I doubt this’ll be the last time we’ll see Avery in something like this! Can't wait till the next Toasty Team project!
